Why, Where and How?
After Sherm's motorcycle accident, there was discussion about how VROC members might show their support for Sherm. There have been many remarks stating how much he will be missed at the rallies until he can be there in person again. I worked with a patch company to create a design for a custom Kokopelli patch and they are now ready for sale. Of course Sherm didn't know anything about it until it was too late to stop the order, or he would have said not to do it, that it was too embarrassing. I can't tell you what this patch will mean to you when you purchase it and wear it. I can only tell you what I told Sherm regarding why I went ahead with this. Its a way to support Sherm, and to thank him for all he has done for VROC and its members over the years, and to think of him when he can't be there. After talking to other VROC members about whether or not the patch should have any writing on it, we decided to leave it without. If you wear it, you know why you wear it. And it will mean something a little different to each of you. Also, because no matter what we put on the patch, someone would have liked something different, so better to leave it simple. If you choose to buy one, they will be $5. Of that, $2 will go to Sherm, 25 cents to the VROC server fund. If you want one by mail, it will be an extra 50 cents for postage. The patches will initially be available at Custer, because Sherm wanted to be at the rally and is home healing instead. UPDATE...More patches have been sold at HSVROC, and all patches ordered by mail have now been sent. At this time I have available for sale what will be the final order of the Kokopelli patch. To get a printable form for ordering patches, please email me at the VROC email link, or click over to my blogger profile and email me using that email link. The final run of the patches will be sold at Eureka Springs as well. I looked into the idea of using Paypal but there is a fee for each transaction, and I would have to increase the cost of the patches to cover it, which I don't want to do. I think we can make it work this way instead. Thanks!
